Hamburg University of Technology was founded in 1978 as a research university to promote interdisciplinarity and innovation as well as both regional and international collaboration. Today, its areas of expertise include „Life Science Technologies“ as medical technology, chemical and biochemical process technology, biomaterials and combinations thereof. This focus is reflected in the university's goal to teach its 8000 students, each studying towards one of over 14 bachelor's and 18 master's degrees, to develop technology for people.
